Like most other DSI MoPho & Prophet 08 owners I wanted VST integration to control/automate parameters. This is the much pre-mature outcome of that desire. Feel free to Beta test & make suggestions in the comment section. Forgive the horrid graphics, I’ll be giving the gui, fixes, & changes my attention during creative downtime. As always I hope other like minded musicians get some use/fun out of these efforts.

Couldn’t get this to work in ableton live 8.1, win xp sp3, rme fireface 400
Tried:
- having the vst on 1 midi track, with some notes… no luck. as soon as i drop the vst, i lose the “midi to” routings for that track, and since the vst doesn’t seem to have midi preferences … no conversation between daw and mopho.
- having an “external instrument” live device with some notes playing… and setting that track’s “midi from” to another track with the mocontrol vst, will crash live.
anyone had any luck in other sequencers?
i would pay for this, should it reach a useable, consistent state. thanks for starting this.
cheers

where can i send layouts?
Yes some DAWS have limited routing capability. Live is one of them..
Live is not hardware synth friendly. But it does work.
1. Create One audio track & 2 Midi Tracks.
2. Now group the tracks into a folder to keep it clean.
3. Insert MoControl into the audio track. Label this MoControl.
4. Set one of the midi tracks inputs to “MoControl”.
5. Set the output of that MIDI track to the MIDI output port feeding your MoPho.
6. Set that midi track monitoring to “IN”. It will now send the midi messages from “MoControl” to the MoPho
7. Use the 2nd MIDI track for your actual MIDI recording/sequencing for the MoPho. The other 2 tracks are just for automation.
This is when tools like Bidule really shine. Unlimited routing.
First, Nice work
Could not get this to work in Live either. Tried your steps but could not insert MoControl into a AudioTrack as suggested.
“3. Insert MoControl into the audio track. Label this MoControl.”
This is not possible as mo controll is a midi effect. Could you clarify. Thanks.
He means put the mocontrol in the first MIDI channel then set the midi IN of the second midi channel to the first: so this…
Create 2 midi channels & 1 audio
Name Midi Channel 1 : MoControl A
Name Midi Channel 2: MoControl B
Put MoControl VST in MoControl A
Set the MoControl B midi input to come from MoControl A
Set the Midi output of MoCOntrol B to your MoPho control midi interface & channel
Set your Audio channel to IN & set it to monitor what ever Audio/Asio channel you’ve routed your MoPho Audio in on
I must qualify this in saying that i only got it to work sporadically but I think my midi interface was playing silly buggers right at that point. But the theory is sound.
Learn youe Ableton Live Routing chaps. Its a bit clunky at times but you can get most things done
Hey there, can we get a step by step process like this for cubase 5? cant get this to control the synth…
Can’t understand why DSI and SoundTower haven’t done this yet, I bought a Mopho because they led us to believe that a plugin was on the way. Anyway, nice to see someone working on it, when/if you make an OSX version I’ll be very interested!
i wouold love to have a a free VST editor for my DSI evolver desktop as well…

could you do that?
Please, make it for Tetra and for Mac!
It would break Access TI monopoly…
As previously mentioned, a VST editor for Tetra would be greatly appreciated.
PLEASE MAKE A MAC VERSION!!!
MAC? Like me?
If it works with MAC and Logic Studio 8 and onwards I’ll be donating the hell out of you!
I’m a graphic designer that would LOVE to work on this project with you! The only catch is, like most graphic designers, I work on a Mac. Port it to OSX/create an AU version and I’ll lend a hand.. and donate! Email me for some examples of my previous GUI design.
Very interested in this, what are you using to write the vst?
Nice work, would love to see a mac version
I can help porting the code…
Finally someone took the effort:D
Unfortunately it’s not working in jeskola buzz (doesn’t seem to send any CC data to my mopho, even correct midi out is selected). If anyone know how of a fix, please lemme know!
If there is a version working in buzz, i’ll gladly donate to this project!
Keep up the good work!
It uses NRPN not CC. make sure the mopho is set to accept NRPN commands.
Thanx for your feedback rhythminmind:)
And i stand corrected, i can send NRPN data with MoControl (Mopho is already set to receive ALL btw).
You need to use another midi controller in buzz for playing notes/patterns on the mopho. (That would be equivalent to adding a midi track in other hosts i would guess).
I guess MoControl sends NRPN data only?
Anyway, I can now send NRPN data and make realtime changes on my mopho, however, there are some glitches.
When i play with cutoff for example, starting at 0 and opens it up, you can see numbers on the mopho goes up from 0-50 (approx), and after that it suddenly peaks at 164.
Same goes for oscillators, where an ever so slight twist on the knob in MoControl forces the Mopho up on a painfully high octave. Also i cant set it back to 0 it seems.
I dont know if its due to the vst host, or due to the beta nature MoControl is in?
Currently i only have one vst host installed, so havent been able to test it with another one yet.
Any ideas what could cause this rhyhminmind?
I’ll see if i can get hold of another host just to test the plugin there
Thanks for the info, I’ll look into these values shorty.
I’m not sure how to get this working in FL Studio. Can you add an option where a MIDI channel can be assigned by the VSTi?
Going to try this out tonight, great idea!
Why don’t you just steal the graphics from the mopho editor? Screenshot and slice
Hey rhythminmind, why don’t you build on the open source code from the one above instead of doing it from scratch? I think you can improve it quite a bit. Wish I had your programming skills or I would have been on top of it!
MAC NOW PLEASEEEE!!!!!
+1 for TETR4.
