It’s better to capture at the higher rates, more so with the older units. You don’t need to worry about the rate of the impulse being different then your project, your plugin will do the SRC for you.

Why 48 kHz? Wouldn’t 44.1 kHz be better for ordinary CD-oriented audio production?
