Comprised of 24-bit PCI audio cards, interface patch boxes and software drivers, the WavePRO family integrates easily with popular analog and digital studio equipment. All of the WavePRO equipment is based upon Gadget Labs' proprietary SoundCache(TM) architecture, ensuring the smooth flow of audio to and from the computer.
"Whether you are looking for a four-channel audio interface with MIDI for your home studio, or professional, 24-channel capability with ADAT connectivity, the WavePRO family can meet your needs," said Rob Ranck, Gadget Labs president. "We're offering incredible flexibility to mix and match components to fit your audio recording requirements and budget."
All WavePRO PCI cards include special features that facilitate interconnection and scalability. First, each card includes a clock sync connector that allows the master audio clock to be shared (256x super-clock). This ensures that multiple cards and audio channels work together as a single unit with locked timing and no audio drift. Second, the WavePRO cards include a special, "daughtercard" connection for adding optional digital audio features, specifically ADAT light pipe and S/PDIF. Lastly, the software drivers are built from a common platform to ensure compatibility.
The WavePRO line builds on the success of the Wave/824 digital recording interface, with 8-in and 8-out channels of 24-bit digital audio. The Wave/824 includes PCI card and rack-mount patch box with active-balanced electronics for quiet analog connection to audio mixers, preamps and amplifiers. Shipping directly to customers since early this year, the Wave/824 is available for $599 U.S.
Wave/496(TM) - The Wave/496 brings new affordability to multichannel 96 kHz recording with four sets of balanced inputs and outputs. An active, half-rack patch box is included and audio levels are selectable at +4 dBu or -10dBv. The unit is scheduled to ship in November, priced at $399 U.S.
Gadget Labs WavePRO family also includes optional "daughtercards" to add popular digital audio interfaces to the base PCI cards:
ADAT option card - Based on the new Alesis 1401 and 1402 chips for complete compatibility, the ADAT option adds a digital audio lightpipe connection. To ensure synchronization with other digital studio components, Word Clock input and output connections are also included. The WavePRO ADAT Option card is scheduled to ship in October for $249 U.S.
S/PDIF option card - The WavePRO SPDIF option adds digital audio I/O with support for 16-bit or 24-bit sample depth. Shipping now for $129 U.S. the S/PDIF option card has been enhanced to include both RCA and optical connections.
Gadget Lab WavePRO products are available direct in the U.S. and Canada through the Gadget Labs web site. In 35 countries outside of North America, sales are through a global network of distributors and retailers that can be found there as well.
The Wave/824 is a professional 24-bit interface with 8 inputs and 8 outputs of digital audio with an integrated MIDI port. Priced at under $500*, the Wave/824 sets a new benchmark for value in 24-bit multi-channel recording technology.
The Wave/824 is a complete system that includes PCI card, rack-mount patch box, and basic recording software. "Since the Wave/824 features are modeled after popular 8-track recorders, it's very easy to hook-up to other studio gear and start recording", said Rob Ranck, company founder. "It includes active-balanced audio connections that connect to nearly any analog equipment including mixers, preamps, amplifiers and monitors. It's the central hub of a digital desktop studio based on a Windows PC or Mac. Users can also expand to 16 or 24 analog channels by installing multiple Wave/824 interfaces."
The Wave/824 combines high current, low-impedance analog circuitry with 24-bit discrete digital converters to achieve professional audio performance (better than 102 dB dynamic range). "The PCI card incorporates the second generation of Gadget Labs' exclusive SoundCache(TM) to produce glitch-free audio recording and playback. This advanced design, combined with our direct marketing focus, allows us to deliver the Wave/824 interface at must lower cost than other 24-bit recording interfaces."

Comprised of a PCI audio card, interface patch box, and software drivers, the Wave/496 supports 24-bit, 96 kHz digital audio and integrates easily with popular analog and digital studio equipment. It comes standard with 4 input channels and 4 output channels for analog-to-digital recording and playback. The half-rack sized patch box incorporates active electronics to ensure low-noise and connects with either balanced or unbalanced audio gear at +4 dBu or -10 dBV signal levels. A MIDI interface is included for connection to synthesizer keyboards or MIDI-controlled gear.
"The Wave/496 is the only product in its class that protects your gear investment with easy upgrades," said Rob Ranck, Gadget Labs president. "For example, if you need more audio recording channels or connection to an ADAT-based recorder or mixer, you can mix and match components to fit your current and future audio requirements."
The Wave/496 includes special features that deliver flexibility and upgradeability. First, it includes a clock sync connector for sharing the master digital audio clock (256x super-clock) between multiple WavePRO interfaces. All interfaces work together as a single unit with locked timing and no audio drift. Second, the Wave/496 includes a special, "daughtercard" connection for adding optional digital audio features, specifically ADAT light pipe, Word Clock and S/PDIF.
